One of a Kind, Unique, Individual

I'm not a knight or a warrior. I can't fight someone else's fight. Every time I do. I end up wrong. I can't wear their clothes. They don't fit. I look silly. I can't walk in their shoes. When I try I fall down.

I need to sing my own song.

It's not a selfish thing. It's a surrender to understanding how to be who I am.

It took me a while to figure out that I can toss and turn, stretch and skew an idea, but I can change the way my brain works. I can walk all the way around and through a thought or a belief, but I can't change the chemistry or the electricity of a single synapse -- slow them down maybe -- but not reroute and remap the system to work as someone's else might.

When the conversation branches off, I have to pay attention to stay on track.

It's a beauty and a curse.

I'm one of kind, unique, individual -- just like everyone else.

You do sing your own song most beautifully retaining generosity of heart and spirit all the while.

People seem to me like treasures, each one different, just waiting to be discovered.

Oh Easy!
And you are one of the finest jewels in the bunch. :)

Ha ha... You sound a bit like me... I had decided that "Just another average, abnormal, unique person like everybody else..." would be my byline...

Ah Bungi!
No wonder we get along so well!

And thank God for that! I don't think I'd like it if you were someone else.

I have a hard time walking in someone else's shoes also. They never fit right and my feet tend to cramp.

I'm more than happy to take you just as you are.

Hmmm. You know, I just don't seem to have your way with words. :D

You are indeed an individual and one that uses words well. But I think you still take the time to reach out and help because that is part of your song.

Hi Kirk!
You and I make a good pair -- maybe not of shoes -- maybe a pair of aces or jokers. We've got our roads, but I'm sure they crossed and seem to be going the same way. :)

Hi Dr. John,
I think the world of you and so appreciate your visits. You are one of the ones who keep me grounded and thinking of life in a good, but real, way. :)

Hi Liz,

How about both Aces and Jokers at the same time. Makes us well rounded, open minded and definitely keeps people a bit off balance. :D

You know, Kirk,
That's a reasonable description. I wonder whether the cowboys in the old west would say we were cheating?

Liz, you are one of a kind and I wish more were like your kind of one. You are a gift, one of those rare individuals that shed a different light on the world, a brighter light, a more loving light, a light of grace and intelligence and love. Thank you for being you Liz. Love and hugs and maybe some cookies too. :-)

Cookies? Trée did you say "cookies?"

Alright then. :)

I know a leather chair that has a great view of the lake. :)

Isn't it a shame that it takes some people...some of us...so long to get this drilled into our heads?

We can do a poor imitation of someone else or give a spectacular performance as ourselves. The former leaves an impression, the latter leaves a legacy.
