When I started out,
I didn't know who or what.
Colors were colors.
Black was black. White was white.
It took a while to see.
Everything that I saw
was just what was.
Any meaning was
only what I layered on.
It's a versatile, flexible,
humbling thought and feeling.
We all create reality.
I saw things one way.
I turned them 90, 180, 270 degrees.
I filled in the blanks
with mirror images.
Why is the positive space
where I focus first?
Why do I go to the negative space
when I look for answers?
Positives hold promises.
Promises are hard to believe.
Am I looking at the abstract
or am I looking at me?

Some interesting thoughts. In a sense we create our world.
Yeah, Dr. John,
That's the idea I was exploring. How much of my world is in my head?
"Why do I go to the negative space when I look for answers?" deserves to be the quote of the day.
And for me, it is.
Hi Roberta!
How great to see you!
Yeah! Don't we all find the answers, not necessarily the ones we need, in the negative space?
Liz
Pretty and insightful. Do we see the colours or do we see the blank spaces. Which can tell us a more interesting story?
Hi safronsars,
Sometimes I think we see both but, it's which story we're willing to believe in.
very interesting thoughts, Liz.
"Positives hold promises." : i must try to remember this. :)
Dsnake,
I so love what you find when you come looking here. :)
the negative places are there waiting to be filled with positives. Does that make sense though? :o)
I think in your case, Easy, that's a truth. :)
Fascinating and inspirational Thought! I think the negative spaces are what create balance, (just dont go there to often!) Maybe the negative spaces we look to were created as our opposites positive space!
Hi Evan
Actually, creative people often look to the negative place to define what something is. Where the light doesn't go is what artists often look for . . .
I see now...Thanks for that Liz!
