The Doorway

When I find myself at the end of a long day, finally able to kick off my shoes, I sit down, put my headphones on, lean back, and just be. Letting me be . . . it’s something I’ve been working on for a while now. I wonder if I’ll ever get close. I wonder if I’m meant to get there or if I’m just meant to try.

The trying’s not such a bad thing. It’s filled with life and learning. The mirrors aren’t the best part, but they no longer hurt me. I think I’m actually getting used to what I see . . . starting to call her a person, making friends with me, sort of like I do my food. That thought makes me smile.

I listen to the music and ride it down to that place inside me that’s like being out in space. It’s the place where stars, words, and colors live with feelings. It’s my universe. I come here when I want to write, when I want to hide, when I want to find my way. When I am here I can see past the planets to the most amazing things in the sky.

Heaven may be up above us.

But I know I will get there through a doorway deep inside.

If we don't take this time at the end of a busy day to just "be" we end up trying to sleep with all that clutter. It never really works out too well. Just as the body needs time to rest and heal, so does the mind.
Peace...............

Hello Helen,
Welcome, thank you for stopping by to say a word. I think you'll like it here. We're a good group.

I feel the same way. Thoughts at the end of the day are good for a weary soul. I'm glad I heard yours. I bet other folks will be too. Thanks for sharing them.

This is very Zen somehow, Liz.

It's something I wish I can do more, letting be -- escape into the sanctuary that is in my mind where no one can disturb me and free the creativity from being caged by cares.

Hi Liz,
Thank you.
I somehow feel that the deeper I go inside of me the easier it is to find the doorway to get out. It's really weird that way. I'm not sure how to explain it, except that the whole universe seems to open up.

Liz, what kind of music do you enjoy, what's playing on those headphones?

If you could recommend one song, one piece of music you would like to share with me, what would it be? Doesn't have to be your all time fave, just today, share something to broaden my world. :-)

Lot of Liz's here. Any Liz that wants to respond is most welcome. :-)

Hi Tree,

Try this. I have a lot of her stuff. I've met her and she's very beautiful--looks like Liesel in the movie "Sound of Music" with Julie Andrews." She trained at the Berkeley School of Music. It's her voice and lyrics in Mel Gibson's "Passion," and Paul Schwartz State of Grace. Her name is Lisbeth Scott. LisbethScott

Go to media and you can hear samples. Passionate Voice is the latest and I also like the song, "Lay You Down."

Liz,
Seems we may have touched on similar themes this week. "Letting me be," being in the moment, appreciating what we have instead complaining about what we don't have. It is good to come by and find myself serendipitous to your thoughts.

Hi Scot,
I'm glad to hear that we might be thinking about the same things. The world needs some serendipity right now, especially between friends.

smiles,
Liz
