I am a poet in my mind.
I wonder at THINGS and you.
words that I say
cannot give justice
to the experience of us.
yet I am desperate
almost violently so
to let the world touch it
You are the world by my side.
You affirm my mere existence.
without talking
we exchange enchantments
denying the need to filter dreams
all that I am
is calmly nurtured
in your generous mindAnd for me to realize this wonder
I need only share your eyes
again

Liz- this is one of the most clearly spiritual poems of yours I've read. It's a prayer, and a beautiful one at that.
I've been reading about the Gospel of Thomas, which interpretes Jesus teachings in a way I can understand, where Heaven is inside us. That's the way I see it, at least.

beautiful my friend! (hugs)
Thank you, David,
I hold this one very dear. I think I agree that heaven is inside us too.
I feel it true.

Hello mergrl,
How do you say so many lovely things??
You are the mergrl by my side. Saying love things each night.
Things what I write cannot possibly explain how you do it.

Liz
Again ... kindness and wisdom filter through, sunny Liz ;-)

7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
-Psalm 42
When I read your poem the above verse came to my mind.
You words are profound.
God bless.
Thank you so much, Orikinia.
God bless you and make your holidays beautiful.

I can hear your soul *sigh* when I read your poetry, Liz.
And, I must admit, it's contagious.
*sigh*.
I agree, it's a beautiful poem.
Garnet:
could "the only way to the kingdom of heaven is through me" be a mistranslation of "the only way to the kingdon of heaven is through yourself"?
What do YOU think?
What do you, think, Liz?
I'm sorry I'm unable to stop by as often as I would like. First, because you deserve to be read; second because I often feel more centered when I leave here.
Merry Ho-Ho, Happy Holies, Glad Tidings, and mostly wishing you comfort and joy for '06.
Cuz ya rock.
Hi Tanda,
Thank you for listening to what I'm not saying.
sigh,
Liz
Thank you, Doug
Don't worry.
I don't do poetry that often.
smiles,
Liz
Hi Zilla,
I feel the same about reading you. I feel more grounded when I come back from the coffeehouse.
The only way to heaven is up to you is my take on it.
smiles,
Liz
