When I have plans with a friend, and then something changes, I often feel badly about telling her that I can’t make it. I love my friends, and I love to be with them. I don’t like it when something comes between me and them. I hesitate. I wonder. I try to rearrange things. I work my way up to telling her what happened and why I can’t make it.
Then, I find out that my change works out better for her. She was faced with a choice that now she doesn’t have to make.
It happens so often. It seems more than coincidence. A change for one of us works out best for the both of us.
I’ve started to face such situations knowing that we’ll both end up in fine shape.
Somehow in some way the stars take care of us.
Even if it’s not so, it’s an awfully nice feeling.
That’s my outlook on postponed engagements.

Best way to get everyone to call you is to try to have a day to yourself...best way to have a day to yourself is to try to make plans
its always the way it works sadly
Hi Janus,
You have a great point there! Though I've grown up enough not to need my telephone turned on every minute to know that folks realize I'm alive. I can go for a walk without it. :)
hi Liz, refer your earlier post on goodbye...sometimes the stars do take care of us there too,,,I heard people say...just that we don't have control on their pace.
Hi Hobbit,
People and stars are made of the same stuff. I believe that the stars do take care of us. That doesn't stop me from feeling the loss when my son goes away and I know that each time he leaves he's going further.
The stars will watch over both of us and keep us close. But my heart will still long for his to be near me.
That's a great outlook. I hope I can learn to adopt it.
Hi J,
It seems to always work out that way. I'm not fooling that's how it works.
Good, positive outlook. I could have used it the last two months I've stood around that bar waiting for you.
Doug,
Two months!!! I thought we planned on meeting next Saturday!
I knew I should have written it down.
Next time I'll write it down for you, and I'll call you on your cell phone. :)
I firmly believe everything happens for a reason. Unfortunately it's the not always knowing what the reason is that keeps so many of us from believing.
Here through BE!:)
Hi Janet,
Seems that things work out as they should and if our outlook is positive we can see the positive in what happens, if not we focus negatively. Maybe we make the outcome totally out of how we think. :)
