25 Words: Good-bye

25 Wds
Sometimes good-bye
is more than melancholy.
Sometimes good-bye
is the only way to know
how important someone has been
to the story of your life.

My experience has been that how I prepare for goodbyes and respond emotionally (or not) to them is the best indicator of just how much someone means to me. Most times I already know that. Sometimes, my emotions catch me completely off guard. It's always a moment of revelation.

The goodbye you write of sounds like a very special one indeed.

Hard to have perspective when we are viewing something up-close. I would like to be better at seeing with my mind and my heart rather than my eyes.

Have a great week Liz. :-)

Yes, the mind and the heart together can see almost anything. They can see a wonderful friend in the comment box. :)

Hello Ms. Demmie,

Thank you for stopping by and for commenting. It's affirming to know that others reconize the feeling.

hi Liz, but does it happen sometimes that when you have to say goodbye to someone who means lot to you, you just forget all the rationales and just don't want to say goodbye at all?

Hobbit,
It was that exact feeling that made me write those 25 words. I wrote the words a few hours after he left to explain to myself how and what I was feeling.
