You Just Have to Wonder

When the world doesn’t make sense anymore, when the rules seem to be all turned around, there’s really not much you can do.

Everyone’s been there.

Despite how it feels, the sky’s not really falling.

Look around you. There are thousands of people who, despite how they look, they’ve had days just like you are having. Maybe they are having one at this very moment and like you, they just aren’t letting on.

Sometimes you just have to let go of what troubles you.
Sometimes you just have to open your arms to the air, give your heart to the wind.
Sometimes you just have to look up at the sky.
Sometimes it does your soul good to look up in wonder.

Hi Michael,
That's the cartwheel nebula. It's one of my most favorite of them all. I only found out about it a couple of months ago.

Great to see you!

Sometimes, when you've worried and fretted, screamed and wailed, and just about destroyed yourself ... the only thing left IS to let go and remember that 'this too will pass' just as it always does.

I love the thought of putting my face into the breeze and letting the soft winds blow it all away ... or at least the worries.

Its said that God never gives us more than we can handle and while we sometimes feel that He HAS ... we move on through it ... we have too.

Wonderful post ... and I love the nebula!

Very good observation. Some people hide their grief very well indeed.
My mother-in-law always says, "I felt bad for myself because I had no shoes until I saw a man that had no feet." I'm paraphrasing but I think you get the intent.
Personally, I feel I've caught the falling sky many times. It almost bruises the soul. In time, a wonderful thing happens; we heal.

Liz,
i've been missing from your blog for some time, bogged down from work. but i just have to comment on this gem of a post.

" the sky is not really falling".
i will try to remember this everytime i'm about to blow a fuse at work. :)
your words have a zen-like calm about them.

thanks for sharing.

Hi Michael,
I think that I've gotten good at feeling sorry for myself during this past year or so. It's not something I like to think on. I'm trying hard to conqueer it. I came when I had my confidence knocked out of me and I had to fight to get it back.

I catch myself at the weirdest time thinking I'm the only one who has no shoes and needing to remind myself that I am a lucky one indeed.

Hi dsnake,
I'll remember your words too. When I need to bolster myself up, I'll remember what you said. I need to get outside of myself and face the world again.
