They Took My Baby Doll

Tonight, there was another one. They stole one of my memories and put it up as if it were their own. It’s out there on another blog. It’s theft of something I own−not my words. Who cares about letters I wrote down? I’ve done that beyond counting. It’s the piece of my heart, my childhood taken and used as if , as if it were nothing but a commodity. Memories are not commodities. They are the stuff of life itself.

Liz, I'm sorry to hear that. My guess is, if they had asked if they could post your material you would have given permission. But they didn't. They just took a memory, something precious to you, something unique to you, something you were willing to share with all, and they just took it. Wish I was there to give you a big hug and tell you that their karma is not your karma.

Thinking of you tonight.

Hi Trée
Of course you would. We would have tea and cookies and make new memories wouldn't we? That's the good part of having our memories.

Trée said...

True. All they took were letters. The heart of the memory, the very thing that gives those letters life--well, they can't take that.

I have some peace flags flying at my place. Stop by and take a journey of the imagination on my living islands connected with and by peace flags. I'll see you there. :-)

I'll come see your peace flags and that will indeed make things fly in the wind.

Well how stinky is that!
I hope that when they read this it will give them a new way to think about what they're really doing.

Hello Dawn,
I doubt they will come back to read this. They are long gone. What I don't understand is that they have no ads on ther blog . . . no way of making monkey. No seemingly real reason for doing what they are doing,

I can't understand people doing that.

I can understand them picking your stuff.

Take Care

As Michael said, at least they have good taste in what to steal. :-)

Liz, just to comfort you the same happens ever to the best authors and best pieces written from the dawn of human history..

and also if all best said and written stuff was of somebody in private that would have been anti cultural.

I had many paintings stolen of me and a few memories I wrote too and besides the automatic abuse I must admit it is also always flattering..

And the best pieces, those very personal ones are the ones that touch all hearts and fit any one..

I often use great words without knowing who first said them and they are great and beautiful just the same.

Sorry for being so horrible

Thank you,
Michael and Trée.
I'm not broken hearted. I'm only sad to think that folks do such things for no reason. I feel blessed to have friend like you both.

Hi,
Perhaps if they didn't look so ugly . . . :)

thank you for making my words sound as if they are more valuable than they are.== as if they are as valuable as your art -- no way.

ugly is surely unpleasant..receive my condolences :)

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Thanks Yos,
Ugly is just plain ugly anyway that you look at it. :)

We've had stuff stolen from us online as well. It's despicable, actually. Sorry to hear about this.

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Hi Toadman,
I've had it done before many times. This one, I think, just hit me wrong. They're not making money. They have no reason and where they put it is so darn ugly.

Hi!

Can you post a link to the offender?

E

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Nope, I can't, but they posted a link to me. They always do. That's why they think it's okay.

That is really sad Strauss. Our memories are just that ... OURS. But one thing you can remember is that it will ALWAYS be yours ... no one that steals it can say that. All they will EVER know is that they stole something from someone. Placing a link is just their way of easing their conscience ... and they KNOW that won't work. They are thieves and they have to live with it.

Tree is right ... their karma has been injured and someday it WILL have to be accounted for.

HUGS

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Thanks Mama,
HUGS are always welcome here.

Oh look heres some coming your way. ((hugs))

Liz-
It's tragic that some people aren't creative enough and have to steal someone's fire. I've always felt that imitation is the highest form of a compliment but plagiarism just plain sucks. I agree with Tree as far as the karma thing; what goes around comes around. Shame on any cretin that steals words.
I have a sneaking suspicion it won't have any negative effect on your writing. Chin up, kiddo...
Happy Sunday.

Hi Michael,
How nice to see you!
Happy Sunday. No worries. Cretin is a fine word for the silly single digit mind that has to take words because he or she has none to say. I'm fine about it really. I just didn't like the words the theif happened to choose.

That you won't post a link to the slimeball responsible speaks words about your personal integrity and style.

Aw Michael
The page is just sooooo ugly -- it's a visual assault. GRIN. I can't bear to look at it. BIGGER GRIN

Since we have two blogs dedicated to memories, I can't imagine copying somone else's and trying to pass if off as my own! I guess the only way to look at it positively is that imitation is supposed to be the highest form of flattery LOL!
