On an Airplane

On Wednesday, I'll be on an airplane again. I'm off to New York City for a short seminar until Friday.

There's a knack to being an air traveler. It involves imagination, being able to detach and enter into the adventure. When I get on an airplane I can be anyone. I can feel all of my worldly attachments fall away.

It's like the opposite of grade school where everyone knew me and all of the things that I'd done since first grade. I can be anyone I want to be.

Sometimes I wish the flight would be longer.

Have a good trip! I love to fly but it is always stressful for me as I am a person that HAS to be to the airport at least an hour before I need to be. I'm always worried that I'll miss my flight! Guess I should put my face to the breeze and let go eh?

Anyhow ... enjoy yourself ... be a princess this time!

Hi Mama,
I'm like you I have to be an hour early at least too. Maybe it's because I don't like the transition. Maybe it'because I want the experience to begin sooner. I'm not sure which is which, but I know I feel more in cotrol of the adventure if I do. I'll be flying today with you along side me. Thinking up a story that has you in it too.

When I'm on a plane I don't feel the sense of detachment that you do, Liz, but I do feel that I'm in God's hands. It's a "Que sera, sera" kind of feeling. I wish you a smooth flight and a safe journey.

be well,

I love flying, planes and airports. I was born in the wrong time. I would have loved to be a pilot, but way back women didn't do that. Everytime I have flown I have loved it.

Hi E,
I got back late last night around midnight and I'm barely awake this morning. The seminar was quite enlightening. I learned too little and too much.

The post of which you speak disappeared somewhere in the Newark International Airport. I think the wifi there had a problem. :)
