I Am Visible

I am a person. I have a place in this world. You can see me or you can walk right by me. You might try to make it otherwise, and it might work for you, but not for me. I am not invisible. I am a person. I can see me. There I am right in the mirror.

Yes, yes you are!

Good morning!

Yes. I've known it all along. (smile) Absolutely no mistaking it.

Sometimes we have to "come out" to ourselves and be convinced of our place in the world. Until I'm sure of it myself, I make it easy for others to pass by and not notice me.

Sounds like a breakthrough of some kind. You go, girl.

OoooooH! That blows my mind.

Hi Cheryl,
Good morning, and hello.
Guess we all are.

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Hi Dawn,
I don't know about a breakthrough, maybe more a realization that not everything is about how others see me.

I had a friend, a girl, that once told me that her father told her:" You don´t need to ask for license to fullfill space."
Pablo Neruda would ask license to be born again ?
Some people have their own space and perhaps would like to have the other´s space too ? we will never know...

( Ii guess people may need a special license to be closer friends of mine, since I may have such a great sense of being independent ????? I may be a "difficult" person ??.)

Thank you, Christine,
Those are wise words, from your friend's father and from you. I need to remember I have a place in this world as much as any other.

Morning Visible Liz :D

I see you too.

I like it! Liz's paean to the invisibles.

This society has way too many of them - it's sick.

Shouldn´t I be supposed to be so amazed that I get some very polite words from the author each time I Write a commentary?
Thank you for noticing me, after all, I really take place.

I see you and I like what I see.

Take Care

Hi Jennifer,
Glad to ee you. I can see you too. :)

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Thanks E.
It's easy enough to feel invisible. We don't look at each other as people often enough.

Christina,
You notice me and my writing. Without you, my words would be apeaking to myself. I would be arrogant and selfish not to notice you and let you know that I do.

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Hi Michael.
I see you here and at your own blog. I find the feeling is mutual entirely.

I've been seeing you for a long time Liz. Do you see me? :-)

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Hi Tree,
I see you sitting in the chair, but sometimes I wonder why you bother. Sometimes I do.

Trée said...

Liz, your writing is unlike anything else I see on the net, so I come and sit and read and absorb. You see from a different perspective than most, and your writing pushes me to see from a different perspective too--and not many have that ability. I hope this answers your question. Now, if I have misunderstood what you were asking and answered the wrong question, please let me know.

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Tree,
You have never once misunderstood me, nor have you ever treated me unkindly. You are a first prizr human being through and through. That's why I wonder . . . You are worth the wondering. We wonder about the stars that shine.

I agree with your point of view.

( I Wish you could bring back all your best memories...

I really love this sentence of a poem I had red:

" not all the things the sea can bring us back, not even the most painfull defeat.";

and " Our minds are like space which enconpasses all things, ,however some will certainlly be lost -modified.").

Liz, I wish I knew you better than I do. I do feel my intuition about people is pretty darn good, in fact, I don't know many who can read people better than I can and you will rarely ever see me beat my own drum, but on this issue I have little doubt.

Having said that I sense two things about you. First and foremost, you have one of the greatest hearts for others that I've come across in a long time. I do not believe there is a single fiber of your being that could do harm to another. I also believe you are unable to be anything than just what you are, which is to say completely forthcoming and sincerely honest in all your communication. When you mix in a very, very high level of intelligence to that brew, you get Liz, one of the more interesting and fastinating people on the net.

The other thing I sense is pain. Not always, but from time to time your postings allude to pain past and present. Those are the times that I wish I was there to listen and to hug and to take away that pain. The pain makes you more real in my mind, more three dimensional, and more someone I consider a friend.

Sometimes I just sit in the chair just, as David might say, to be. Just to be and to listen and try and listen as deeply as I can to what is said and what is not said. Sometimes words don't help because sometimes what is needed is beyond words. The net is not always a good place to do the type of listening I like to do, but please know, if I'm just sitting in my chair, it's because I want to be in that chair and I want to hear what is being said.

Hugs and kisses my dear.

Christina,
What lovely thoughts you bring each time you stop by to write here. I feel that you add so much to what we talk about. Nothing can bring anything back to us, yet what we have been is what we are now in so many ways. It's like a puzzle just out of reach.

"ME" Liz Strauss said...

Ah Friend,
Would that I were all that you think of me. You are indeed a friend beyond words who has done more and been more than even my words could ever describe.

Hi Bradford,
I love They Might Be Giants. They are wise and now they're just a little older. (smile)

That is not you in the mirror! That is you standing in front of the mirror.

Well said, Mr. Travis.
But at least, I can face myself, know myself and recognize myself there.
