The Flower

I plant seeds. I watch a flower grow.
I do not hear self-actualizing questions.

What kind of flower am I?
What kind of flower should I be?
How do I compare to other flowers?
How might I meet my flowery
potential?

The flower spends no time
thinking about being a flower.
It just lives a life of flowerness,
and we automatically agree.

There is so much I can learn from a flower.

Now I want to be a flower. I like the intent of this and when I read it I can feel myself nodding, yes for I'm in agreement too, no question.

Hello, ewsywriter,
Yes. That's how it hit me when I was thinking about it. That the flower seems to have the whole thing worked out.

Glad to make you smile.

What a unique way of looking at the life of a flower! If you don't mind my asking, what's your favorite flower? I think the kinds of flower we like say something about our personalities. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you are a rose...

Hi Tanda,
Thank you for asking, but my favorite flowers are wild violets. I love how they grow in bunches witht their velvety petals and their fragile stems. They used to cover the springtime hillside where I grew up.

Roses are too formal for me. Though once my son got me a bouquet that had 12 roses in 12 colors and I took a new look at roses that day.

Hey Liz, I guess I'm as simple minded as a flower, cause I too don't like to ponder about such questions as who or what or why I am.
Maybe one day I'll join the ranks of the great thinkers... or maybe it would be enough if I just thought a bit every once in a while :)

Melly,
Flowers aren't simple minded, neither are you. :)

That's the beauty that the flower and you accept yourselves for what you are. I admire that and look to learn from that.

Liz

Who presumes what a flower thinks about, or does not think about?

Perhaps one of the many beauties of a flower is that, if it dares to speak of what humans may be thinking, we cannot hear it.

You've got me there, Zilla.

But I think a flower is smarter than to spend time thinking about what humans think about.

Another great poem! Liz!
I hope I can just keep growing towards the sun without worrying too much. Life is too short to worry about some worthless concerns.

Hi Yuna,
Not really a poem, just some thoughts written in an interesting fashion, set out in a way to keep my attention.

Thanks I don't worry much these days. I like to think though, but my days of overthinking things are over, I think. :)

Your posts today were fun.

smiles,
Liz

Hey Liz, I really need to pick your brian one day about the whole poem education. I treat anything that has less than 10 words per line a poem...;-) But your flower post surely reads so smoothly... very refreshing reading for me after blogging about social issues all day long.

Time for me to go preparing for another long weekend trip... See you on Monday on the Net!

Thanks Liz!
