No Not Really

Not a real thought
no
no not really
not a place
more like a feeling
no real words
no thoughts
to name them

safe warm silence
hold me close

near the soul
but hesitating
finding freedom
finally fading

not a real thought
no
not really

not a question
nor an answer
just a call
so slight, so slow
not a meaning
more a dancing
like a wistful need to know

not a real thought
no not
really

now a wondering
gently tumbling
falling with no place to go
mindless seeking
thought-filled hiding
sadness, shyness
saying so
not a need to place my finger
more a place that needs a touch

not a real thought
no
no not really

safe warm silence
hold me close

I like this. Every communicator probably has felt these things...and every person who is expected to be wise or loving in the situtations of life. We sometimes feel so inadequate in the face of life, don't we?

(That's why I'm thankful when God gives me the words and silences I could never manufacture on my own!)

At least, that's part of what I got our of this post.

    God bless!

  3. A silent song of the searching heart. It sounds like the center of all beginnings, the beginning of all hopes, the hope of all love.

I wish I could hug you. I am now, in my mind.

  4. I feel the emptiness but not loneliness.

I feel safe in the dark. I am comfortable in the-not-knowing.

This is another good post from Liz.

  5. Hello keeper of the searching heart,
It is a song indeed. It came from the poetry place deem inside of me where the sky is blue-black in the moonlight and thoughts can change on the night breeze. You are right, too, there is much hope and dancing, because I hear the music in the words. I thought you might like this one. I hope you do.

  6. Hello taorist,
Yes, there is much safety, safeness between those lines. Thank you for hearing that. The dark place where these words were formed is safe like the womb.

  11. Thanks Autumn,
It's a lot aboutt the music of my thinking and the music of the language as well as about what the words really mean.

  12. Comfortable silences, times when souls communicate without words.

  13. Like a thick comforter you just pulled from the dryer and draped around your shoulders...

I want to take a nap.
