Hi mergrl, I'm kidding. I live in a highrise and I have a wi-fi printer. I can't imagine someone actually printing to my printer, but my husband I were laughing about what would happen if someone did. You know, stealing the wi-fi thing.
I'm sure you still are, people who like learning never stop :0) hmmmm lets see, fed ex package to Liz, she writes paper, fed ex back, plenty of time before tuesday LOL
Hey Did you know that I'm doing a book for MIT that has an author each from Mit, Cambridge, Technical University of Denmark, and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm? My job is to make is sound like one English speaker wrote. Not much fun since they're all engineers so none of them speak English to start with. smiles, liz
LOL you are too funny, I wouldn't know what to do with an engineer from MIT's writing if it came up and bit me, its probably all full of that icky math (yes I know, science is full of math, but I try to avoid it at all costs) LOL
and please tell me this is a job and not a hobby :0) because if its a hobby, Liz you seriously need to get a different hobby LOL
Actually, it's a book for engineering professors telling them how to teach engineering students, so no math. And yes there is money involved, because I can't yet support myself blogging and no one is sending me money for free.
Husband was copying some cassettes from the stereo to his laptop. He left it on. Someone round here must have WiFi, because it has now picked up the signal and is downloading all the latest windows upgrades..............
Hi Cheryl. Sorry to hear about your husband's "misfortune." We have so many safety nets on our wi-fi we don't really use it. But it's there if we need it I guess.
Opps is right. I can just imagine the mood my husband would be in. :P smiles, Liz
But I will admit to hijacking wi-fi in my mothers NYC highrise. It was just easier than using the phone line and creating a new location. Amazing, how many networks you can find in a highrise, and how many are not secure!
One network name I will refrain from repeating here. It rhymed with "duck scoff."
Easy to say cities are unfriendly places; harder to admit that thievery is thievery, plain and simple.
Hi Zilla, I can't help it. Your message made me giggle--especially the name of the network. It's almost as if they were asking you to . . . I've called the pope and he's given you a special wi-fi dispensation.
you are kidding right? Do you have a good relationship with these neighbors, or are they just extremely nervy?
ReplyDeleteI have one neighbor that if they asked first wouldn't be a problem, the other neighbors....totally different story :0)
Hi mergrl,

ReplyDeletehope you are having a good night
(hugs)
I've been spending my day trying to fix up my ads so that someone will click on them for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat have you been doing?
I think I would laugh if such a thing happened to me the first time.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I thought it up.
I'm not sure I would laugh if it actually happened. I think then I would be amazed.
smiles,
liz
I'll be sure to check them out :0)
ReplyDeleteI had lunch with the ladies :0) and homework, some fun and some not LOL
have a good one :0)
Hey, I wish I could help you with your homework. I used to be good at school.

ReplyDeleteLMAO good one
sounds like a challenge and a major undertaking, I'll stick to my science paper for now, at least its a language I understand LOL
And here I was ready to trade ya!
ReplyDelete:0)
ReplyDeleteHow did I know that would be your answer? . . . oh well.
ReplyDeleteLOL you are too funny, I wouldn't know what to do with an engineer from MIT's writing if it came up and bit me, its probably all full of that icky math (yes I know, science is full of math, but I try to avoid it at all costs) LOL

(hugs)
You've joined the community, you get linky love. :)
ReplyDeleteAt least you'd get to read their document. What exactly is wi-fi anyway? It sounds pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betty
Hi Betty,
ReplyDeleteA wireless connectivity--my printer doesn't need wires talk to our computers.
smiles,
Liz
"linky love"
ReplyDeleteI need to add that to my lexicon. :-)
Morning Liz. I've got a truck load of smiles for delivery this morning. Where would you like them?
Hi Tree,
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Somehow they've already arrived on my face. :)
smiles,
Liz

Oops?

That's definitely going too far! I'm glad it's a fictional situation. But it's easy to imagine someone actually doing it.
ReplyDeleteMark Daniels
HI Mark,
ReplyDeleteIt's just my imagination running away with me as it sometimes does. :)
You're right it would be going too far.
smiles,
Liz
well it may not be too funny, in a time before when everyone had one of their own people co-oped and shared resources.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Lance,
ReplyDeleteBut usually they asked first.
I think that was the implied problem. :)
smiles,
Liz
Heaven forbid.
